Danthonia californica var. californica
Spry, bright green blades often with purple tips, fashion a dense nearly evergreen tuft that’s second-to-none for a meadow planting or a small verdant lawn. Indigenous to our inland mountains and coastal ranges, California Oatgrass produces airy 18 in. flower stems with pendant buff-colored spikelets. This leafy bunchgrass is a stalwart hard worker that stabilizes soil, resists deer, withstands foot traffic and prefers minimal summer water.
Blooms April – May. Size: 18"–2' high x 15" wide; hardy to zone 8. Danthonia californica var. californica (G-0503) Each $6.75
