Echinops bannaticus ‘Star Frost’ at Digging Dog
Globe Thistle
Bees and butterflies adore Echinops. They are so easy to care for that you will too. Equally stunning in the garden or as a fresh or dried cut flower, their perfectly round blooms and statuesque profile bring intriguing definition to surrounding softer forms. Thriving in well drained soil, even if it is poor or sandy, the Globe Thistle is an undemanding perennial well worth making room for. Echinops bannaticus ‘Star Frost’
Round, pearly white blooms sojourn on well-branched sturdy stalks that aren’t quite as tall as Echinops ‘Blue Glow’s. Thistlelike narrow green leaves show off downy gray-green bellies, while the distinctive flowers proudly illuminate a drift of Leymus ‘Canyon Prince’.
Blooms July – early September. Size: 3-1/3' high x 18" wide; hardy to zone 4. Echinops bannaticus ‘Star Frost’ (P-1592) Each $7.00
