Alpine Wallflower

Erysimum

Erysimum ‘Wenlock Beauty’ full sun

A sweetly scented, quintessential cottage perennial growing around British cemeteries and castle ruins dating back to the 14th century, the Wallflower has been associated with romance and fidelity.

Showcasing a beautiful array of colors and an equal amount of charm, the four-petaled, terminal flower clusters first open in rose, plum and lavender shades, then transmute to mauve, tangerine, copper and dusky maroon. Narrow, toothed evergreen leaves form a low and bushy widespreading mass that creates a pleasing deep green presence, especially in winter.

Well suited for edging a pathway or gracing the rockery, this floriferous beauty happens to be undemanding, even tolerant of drought, requires regular pruning to maintain a good form and can be planted next to Geranium sanguineum var. lancastriense.

Blooms April–July.

Size: 12" high x 2' wide; hardy to zone 7.

Customer Comment:

“I have often ordered by mail or online, and I must say that your plants far exceed the size and quality of most of the other nurseries with whom I have dealt.  You can be sure that I will be a frequent customer in the future.”
