at Digging Dog

Allium

Ornamental Onion

Our selections are embellished versions of the common culinary bulbs. Prospering in a sunny, well drained site, these pest resistant Alliums add flair to the garden, your favorite container, or an arrangement; they are attractive either fresh or dried.

Allium ‘Mount Everest’ full sun  new plant

Sharing some of the mountain's majestic appeal, impressive, 5 in. snowy white spheres perch atop brawny, straight, green glistening stems. When Mr. A. Langedijk crossed Allium stipitatum and Allium aflatunense, a long blooming luminous beauty was born that can be superimposed en masse against a dark backdrop or interplanted amid quantities of purple flowering Alliums. Coveted by gardeners, florists and bees, vigorous ‘Mt. Everest’ yields long strapping leaves persisting ’till flowering time and distasteful to those fretful deer.

Blooms May–June.

Size: 3'–3-1/2' high x 6"–8" wide; hardy to zone 4.

Customer Comment:

“I just received my plant order this morning. Everything looks GREAT and seems to have come through in fine order.  I am so glad I ordered from your nursery and I will definitely be getting more plants from you.  They are very healthy and have obviously had a good start!”
