Maple-like leaves form a dense evergreen base for long slender stems lined with small, urn shaped flowers, ranging in color from white to pink to chartreuse. Heucheras are extremely durable, despite their delicate, even dainty appearance. Long-lived and occasionally drought tolerant, they are appropriate to virtually any garden situation. For its resilient nature, its tall, strong stemmed posies and handsome large leafage, this robust Heuchera maxima descendant was selected by victor reiter. two foot high red-tinted stalks elevate hundreds of smoky rose-colored blossoms above compact, green rounded foliage. Flourishing in dry shade with little water, ‘Old La Rochette’s good-sized mounding clump and pretty floral urns are most impressive in a drift under native oaks neighboring Festuca ‘Stony Creek’.
