Plectranthus
Plectranthus ‘Mona Lavender’ (P-2333)
Each 11.00
The floriferous result of a South African 1990s breeding program at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, this tender perennial emphasizes lovely, 6 inch tall, dark-stemmed spires graced with tubular, two-lipped and freckled lilac-colored flowers aloft a dashing dense energetic mound. Shiny ovate dark green foliage shows off textural veins, notched edges and stunning eggplant-hued flip sides, while the months-long floral hoopla nourishes bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Parented by Plectranthus saccatus and Plectranthus hillardiae, ‘Mona Lavender’ can festoon containers, patio plantings, hanging baskets and indoor windowsills, where she relishes cold weather protection, morning sun, afternoon dappled light plus free-draining nooks.
