Birds Nest Spruce
Believed to have originated in the early 1900s at Germany’s Sasselheide Nursery, this vintage small-statured cultivar won a prestigious AGM for its broad globular habit, which sports a flattened top with a unique nest-like central depression. Clothed in slender, deep green needles, densely woven layers of horizontally spreading and slightly ascending branches craft a dapper, slow growing deer-resistant evergreen. ‘Nidiformis’ can soften a rock garden, grace a container or spill over a stone wall, while relishing evenly moist, well-drained soil and plenty of sun.
Size: 2' 0" – 3' 0" high x 4' 0" – 5' 0" wide.
