Calluna
Heather
Callunas’ tiny scale-like leaves range from deep green to silver, gold and bronze, with some changing color after a frost. Flowering from mid-to-late summer in cool whites, pinks and purples, the small bell-shaped flowers are frozen in graceful repose on one-sided spikes. Heathers are marvelous, fresh or dried.
Calluna vulgaris ‘Kerstin’ (S-0192)
Each 12.00
Distinctive for her stylish downy gray-green guise, this lovely mounding Heather emphasizes year-round enticements. There’s pink, coral and cream-colored new growth, darling bell-like mauve-colored flowers in summer and soft violet foliar hues during the colder months. Captivating bees, moths and butterflies, easy-care ‘Kerstin’ lends low-growing evergreen accents to rock gardens, coastal plantings and mixed borders, where somewhat alkaline, well-drained nitches are savored.
Blooms August–mid-October
